Active Ingredients

United under the banner of Active Ingredients are Australian-born / Berlin-based producer Jules Habib, alias Inkswel, and multi-talented Atlanta rap artist Stan Smith.

Combining their way obvious inclination towards all things funky in one piping-hot collab, these sure-handed exponents of the boogie scene have come up with their own cucumber-cool strain of discoid house and hip-hop, both laid-back and uplifting in equal measure.
Their first release, “The Middle” EP, which was released via Cosmocities in 2019, laid the foundation to a trouble-brewing collage of influences, spanning from classic Chicagoan house blends to southern rap, through trip-hop, Afro-funk, disco and brass-heavy, smokey jazz pizzazz.
